Harrisburg, PA, October 17, 2017 – School bus safety took center stage on Tuesday, October 17 at the Annual School Bus Safety Week reception at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg.
The Pennsylvania School Bus Association joined other members of the school transportation community during this special week to promote school bus safety and to recognize and thank those who work so hard in the school bus industry.
During this year’s reception, students were recognized for their winning entries in the annual School Bus Safety Poster Contest. Students from across Pennsylvania submitted creative entries relating to this year’s theme: “My Driver – My Safety Hero.” The winning poster in each of the three categories will be submitted for the national judging.
Winners of the Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Safety Competition were also honored during the School Bus Safety Week reception. PennDOT presented each of the drivers with a special certificate. Fred Bennett, PSBA President, then presented the top winner in each division was presented with a special traveling trophy from PSBA. Bennett noted, “Our state is privileged to have these professionals transporting our children to school.”
